I have a new SCAT degree pulley coming for the Pig of Plastic. The stock pulley is marked with some odd degree that I can't figure out, and I want to be able to set valves, timing, etc. easily.
I don't want to make a special puller, but will if I have to.
I am leaving the motor in.
Anyone have any tips?

I may take you up on this Clinton. I have a nice SnapOn BluePoint puller, and it will not go on with the engine in place.
Sigh...

The puller I have is a Berg style and should work with the tin installed. Do you have my number?

The original crank pulley is out of the Pig of Plastic. I borrowed a puller from Clinton, and it took about 3 minutes. Very easy, many, many thank you's to Clinton.
I may go in and clean up the bottom of the tin...I have a little paint flaking. Otherwise, it looks better than I thought it would. Not even very much oil.
The new degree pulley should arrive by Friday. Glad I got a new bolt...it is supposed to be Grade 8.8, and for less than $6.00, it should be well worth it. The bolt I removed is Grade Lead I think...
It's plated, but looks to be sub-EMPI...really, really cheap. Probably came from a country that is better known for basket weaving than good fasteners
