rail buggy build

figured i'd start up a build thread of my rail. bought it around julyish last year.

what it looked like right before i brought it home





it was purchased without the engine so i had to get one put in



painted everything black. installed lights



added a rear view camera



quick release fire extinguisher mount







started wiring up some relays and switches







added a new shifter handle plus you can see the small dash i made



added led taillights. still need to hook up a brake light system into it



15x10 rears



another pile of goodies

installed led dust lights



fabbing an aluminum rear shelf area under the gas tank and behind the seats. soon to install ammo boxes for storage

brackets to support ammo boxes



relocated voltage regulator



aluminum cut and fitted



gas tank reinstalled and battery shut off added. soon to add a fuse block in there too



wheel adapters on



shiney engine stuff on



new fire extinguisher spot



and pretty much as it sits now. since these pics i've had seat belt tabs welded on and i'll be installing those soon

also, can't really see it except kinda sorta in the last two pics is a quick release steering wheel mount.

future plans are front rims to match the rears. tires. high back poly seats. steering wheel. whip for the dunes. i think i had a couple other things in mind too but i can't remember what they are right now. i'd like a windshield if anyone knows where i can get one of those too.

Chassis Windshield Rubber, Bugpack Part #6049 lets u mount glass to a tube frame just make a templet out of cardboard and take it to a Glass shop

few new updates

lights on front for if i'm on a street at night so i don't blind em with the hellas :rofl: i actually did these mid winter but i never remember to take pics till now


new fuse block to get rid of the wad of fuse holders coming off the battery. the block is also run through the battery shut off as well




harnesses on


swapped back to the other dust light and put it on top of the fan shroud. i didn't like the dual light setup. it was too big and bulky for me. so far i'm pretty happy with it here

bought these tires


sadly they were just a bit too big so they were returned and i ordered these



new rear shocks



and put on a couple spark arresters for the dunes



bought a couple new seats too but i'm not liking how those are fitting so i might not use em. dunno

What do the seats look like? Do they feel any better then the ones you have in it?

they are poly high backs and are far more comfy than the fiberglass low backs i was trying to replace. maybe someday when i get a welder i'll make em fit or just save em for my baja or make a seating area in the barn
