The date is July 11, 2010 11:00am-3:00pm @

Village Market

We have permission to have our Car Show in South Haven this year thanks to Mr. Stephen Murk @ Murk Management owners of Village Market . We will or have permission for 50-60 cars and Swap meet parts area .
The Show area will be right out front along M-140 right across from " Back to the 50's " we had GTG there .
The area has gas , Car wash , 5 places to eat within walking distance , down town is 2 stop lights away , the 2 beaches are within 2 miles , and easy on/off from M-140 , M-43 and I-196 .
More info to come latter .

We have a unique way of voting in this show, Each vote you wish to cast towards your car or your favorite will cost you $1 a piece. You can vote as many times as you have $1's. All proceeds go to charity

How about a more official name?

Also it would be nice to have music either a local radio station or a DJ of some sort. What about the Volkscast radio guy? Might be tough to get him to come to a smaller show. I'll do some checking for dash plaques at a decent price.

I was going to say the chalk bug like Harsh Winters but I sold it to Bren.

You can even use a regular VW for a chalk car even a driver. I thought about painting the lower half of my bus in chalk board paint but wifey said no.

A cool idea of a trophy would be scrap VW engine parts welded together.

If someone is willing to chalk board paint their car then yes we could use a daily. But if you aren't watching the kids 100% damage to non chalk board parts could occur.

One cool thing about Old Forts Trophies is they are hand made by members and are always different. Now I don't want to rip off their idea but something similar would be cool with parts like AJ said or matchbox cars.

Got some bad news today. Sam's corporate has disallowed any car shows at their location. I will start looking for a new spot right away.

This event has traditionally been in the Holland / Zeeland area with our club and the people that put it on before. I'd like to try to find a loction in that area.

The outlet mall won't work. I'll keep windmill island in mind.

I only posted the problem to let people know that all was not rosy in paradise. I have some other ideas and am working on them. I'll let everyone know when there is something definite

Colin's park South side by lake Mac. , but I don't think there is any place to eat near by .
As far as for traditions , I'm still new to the VW world and some what of an out sider so I only know of 1 GoodVolks Car Show and that was last year . Plus this Club does cover more than the Holland area , I'm not trying to to raise hate & discontent , just trying to help the club to have the biggest and best car show in the area .

Hey ,How about the old strip mal where K-mart was thats a big lot,and not a lot going on in there right now . and across from Goodwill on chicago dr. there was a sing saying have your event here . the thing with that is its just a open feild
